XBOX 360 one-eighty

[ based on an email I sent Jason today ]

So – I gave the XBOX 360 a bad rap for at least a year (launched too soon, uninventive, not completely backwards compatible, blah blah blah)…. then I started warming up to the idea of buying one when Forza 2 came out (being a huge Gran Turismo fan, the original Forza gave me the additional realizm and unforgiving gameplay I always wanted GT to provide)

Today I am over all that.  I’m absolutely in love with my recently aquired 360.

I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much if I had acquired one earlier, however.  I dig Forza and all – especially driving an 04 STI at Road Atlanta – but what has me hooked is XBLA.  Braid – incredibly awesome and inventive while remaing very familiar to most gamers.  Castle Crashers – very cool – flash-based, but insanely well done.  Feels like an edgier River City Ransom (top 10 favorite game of all time) without the 8-bit graphics and with a medieval theme.  I’ll buy it just like I did Braid.  Entering CC information on XBLA sucks, tho.  I’ve resorted to buying cards.  Sears has them for $25.00 (1600 points) but you can pricematch Sams Club at $18.72 and get them down to about $18.00 each after the 110% pricematching.

All that to say – go get a 360, even a used one on eBay (words I never expected to say to you.)
