Halloween, Dogzilla and Such

Halloween started early this year… in the form of a box sent my my brother, Jason, and his lady, Teresa. The box contained a lobster dog costume which was hilarious, but, sadly, too small. I finally got around to returning the costume to target and wound up with a “large” lizard costume instead. I procrastinated further until yesterday arrived and it was, indeed, Halloween.

I obtained some Velcro straps from the Flying-J truckstop (I somehow knew they would have a roll) near the office and rushed home after work to take needle and thread to the costume and have it ready to delight some trick-or-treaters. This last statement is funny because our house is remote enough that Lana and I have not once had any form of trick-or-treater in the last five years… the entire time we’ve lived at this home.

Well, I finished the mods, but the costume lasted mere minutes on the dog. Bonnie was a good sport, but it was just not made for her size and she soon wriggled it to the point of becoming tangled in it and immobilized. This was all well and good because, once again, we had zero trick or treaters.

We thought we were going to have a few because a car stopped right in front of our house. So we scrambled the house to have candy ready and then waited patiently for the doorbell to ring. It never did… instead the car sped off…

The occupants had just finished rolling our neighbor’s house.

I am a bad neighbor.
